Children’s Bedding that is kind to the skin

At some point it will be time to look for new children’s bedding that is right for your child, there are a number of things you have to be aware of. For instance some children may be allergic to certain fabrics and some may not react well to cheaper quality bedding due to sensitive skin.

When looking to choose new bedding for your children there are things you need to be aware of and look for. Many parents are faced with the issue that a child often doesn’t care what state their bed is in, so if they are finding it uncomfortable, itchy or it irritates the skin, children wont often think to go to their parents with this problem.

When looking to buy sheets for the bed there are ways to ensure that the fabric is gentle on the skin, for instance Egyptian cotton is soft, and kind to sensitive skin. The problem often lies in the duvet or pillow that you choose, some people can be allergic to the material and require a special type. Or there are factors about the environment the bedding will be in that parents fail to take into account, the cause being that the bed is uncomfortable.

There is a great amount of choice that you can pick from when looking to replace your children’s bedding. For instance you can pick from synthetic materials or natural ones which can cater to your child’s needs, like soft for sensitive skin, synthetic for the allergic to natural materials, and so on. The material you want, however does not mark the finish line as there are other things that need to be taken into account.

Some things that have to be taken into account – other than a child’s intolerances – when picking bedding is the average temperature of the room. If you are looking to buy a new duvet, you need to think carefully as to what tog you need for your child to stay warm in winter but not get too hot in summer. On average a room with a good circulation will require a tog that is no more than 9. Since children can’t regulate their body temperature as well as the average adult, a lighter duvet is always the best way to go until they reach the age of around 10 or 11.

The bedding we choose does have a huge impact on the quality of sleep you are likely to get, so when you’re looking for bedding that ticks all the right boxes (good to skin, light, well made) for your children, Linen House are here to help advice you on your child’s needs and what children’s bedding will suit them the most.
